2021 DFV Malbec
Sweet baking spices from the oak aging, aromas of blackberries and blueberries. On the palate this wine is medium bodied, with soft powdery tannins and long lasting acidity.
Malbec sourced from our estate vineyards in the Santa Clara AVA located in the Central Coast. Clone 9 on rootstock SO4, planted originally in 1990 and grafted over to Mourvedre in 1996
The grapes were hand harvested in September and allowed to cold soak for 2 days. Primary fermentation lasted 12 days. This wine was aged for 15 months in 42% new french oak barrels.
